About the Conference and IMS

The Indian Mathematical Society (IMS) is the oldest and the largest Mathematical Society of the Country. Every year, the society organizes its annual conference at different locations of the country. The upcoming 85th Annual Conference of Indian Mathematical Society will be organized during 22-25 November 2019 at Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur. About the Organizing Institute

The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) is a public engineering institution established by the Government of India in 1951. It was the first of the IITs to be established and is recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. The institute was established to train scientists and engineers after India attained independence in 1947. It shares its organizational structure and undergraduate admission process with sister IITs. The campus is spread over 8.5 square kilometers (2,100 acres) and is residence to about 22,000 inhabitants.
